COVID 19
Supplementary Information for Guests
Thank you again for booking with Casa da Luz.
We are excited that you are joining us and we hope to make you feel as safe as possible while you are in the Azores.
Please read our COVID-19 Supplementary Information for Guests. This is for the safety of everyone: you, your group members, and your family, but also the health and safety of our staff and their families, as well as of other guests.
Cleaning and disinfection
-
To ensure proper cleaning and disinfection, we are no longer doing the same day check-in/out. Additionally, no early check-ins or late check-outs will be considered. This means that all check-outs must be completed by 12:00 and that check-ins cannot be done before the 15:00.
-
All surfaces will be cleaned as usual, and heavy-use areas will be thoroughly disinfected: kitchen countertops, bathrooms, door handles, light switches, lockbox, etc.
-
All remote controls will be newly encased in plastic prior to each stay.
Preparing your trip
-
As always, we recommend that guests purchase travel insurance so that they are fully covered in the event of cancellation and trip interruption.
-
Bring masks for yourself and your family or group members. It's mandatory in the Azores to wear masks indoors of public spaces and it is considered socially responsible and good civic behavior to wear masks outdoors.
-
If you would like to purchase masks from us, this is also possible. Please email for price list.
-
Because of the need to report any possible cases of Covid-19 to the health authorities, it is crucial that you or someone in your party have a mobile phone that works in Portugal. If you or someone in your party becomes ill, we have a protocol in place to isolate the suspected case and help you as much as we can.
Check-in:
-
We will keep operating on a self-check-in and presential basis. This means that if you decide to self-check-in we will send to you a code which you will use to remove the key from the lockbox. You will then let yourselves in.
-
Guests’ registration and information for immigration and Borders Service (SEF) will be sent by email.
-
The house rules and recommendations book will be available on a QR code at the house or online HERE.
At Casa da Luz
-
The house has sanitizer gel or soap dispensers, please wash your hands well immediately upon entering the apartment.
-
All books and magazines, as well as rugs and decorative pillows, have been removed. We realize these items make the apartments ‘homier’, but they are also potential problem spots for infection and are difficult to clean and disinfect.
-
The apartment has been cleaned and disinfected to the best of our abilities, but please also take care to keep you and your family safe. The apartment will contain a cleaning kit (disinfectant spray and new sponge) which you can use to periodically clean heavy-use spots such as door handles and light switches.
-
If there is any problem with the apartment that requires assistance either from a member of our staff, they will only enter with your permission and everyone who is in the same room should wear a mask.
-
Consider keeping at least one window open in each room so that the air can circulate. To keep the apartment cool in the summer heat, lower the blinds about halfway.
-
Please maintain social distancing: visitors to your apartment are not allowed.
-
Consider leaving all shoes at the door.
